Five
years after receiving his veterinary degree from
Texas A & M, Dr. Charles N. McDonald established
Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic on June 6, 1964 at a
location opposite the Rose-Rich Shopping Center in
Rosenberg. Two years later, another young A &
M-trained veterinarian and fellow Air Force veteran,
G. Tucker Robinson, joined “Dr. Mc,” as he is
generally known.

In 1969
the partners began construction of a new clinic
building in Richmond on Thompsons Road, which opened
on May 31, 1970.
Dr. Mc recalls that the clinic was named for the
Rosenberg and Richmond communities when it first
started, and at its beginning “it was a big deal for
a business to serve clients in both communities.”
When the clinic was first built, it was on the very
edge of Richmond and the City helped to the project
by extending water and sewer service to the site.

For over
30 years, Dr. Robinson and Dr. Mc maintained a mixed
practice of small and large animals and the two took
turns being available for emergencies on nights and
weekends for many, many years. Three fine associate
veterinarians who practiced at Rose-Rich Vet Clinic
at different times during the years, Dr. John Stern,
Dr. Douglas Dornak, and Dr. Steven Hibbler, later
established their own clinics at Needville, El
Campo, and Katy respectively.

In 1998,
Sharon L. Moore, DVM joined the practice as a
Partner, and in 2007 became the President of the
corporation. A 1983 graduate of the University of
Tennessee at Knoxville, Dr. Moore has led the
process that builds on this long tradition of
excellent medicine and service to community with the
design and building of a new structure to house the
clinic.

Continuity is one of the hallmarks of Rose-Rich
Veterinary Clinic. Robinson and McDonald continue
practicing medicine at Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic.
Office Manager Leslie Walenta has been with the
practice more than twenty-eight years, giving our
clients a familiar smiling face when they walk
through the door.
