Dr. Sharon L. Moore, DVM
Dr
Sharon Moore is the owner and visionary behind what
is new at Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic. She spent
hours upon hours designing and planning a new space
for a fabulous old practice with lots of existing
clients. She wanted to increase the space without
changing what was great about the old practice,
personal service and affordable pet care.
Dr. Moore graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine from the University of Tennessee in 1983.
She received the Armistead Award for Outstanding
Veterinary Student, and the Chancellor’s Citation
for Extraordinary Academic Achievement in 1982.
Society of Phi Zeta, Honor society of Veterinary
Medicine and Gamma Sigma Delta, Honor Society of
Agriculture. She became a partner at Rose-Rich
Veterinary Clinic in 1998 and sole proprietor in
2007. Dr. Moore is a member of the Texas Veterinary
Medical Association, and the American Veterinary
Medical Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Moore likes sharing activities
with her husband Michael and daughter Katie. The
Moore’s enjoy travel, scuba diving, horseback riding
and church. They have cats, horses, cattle, and a
sheltie named Aggie and Australian Cattle dog named
Jazz.
Dr. Tucker Robinson, DVM
Dr.
Tucker Robinson grew up in Waelder, Texas where he
attended Waelder High School. He earned his Bachelor
of Science degree at The Agricultural and Mechanical
College of Texas in May of 1962 and his Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M in February of
1964. Dr. Robinson served time in the Air force
working with the Sentry patrol dogs.
Dr. Robinson partnered with Dr. McDonald in 1966 and
two years later they purchased the property on
Thompsons Road (FM 762) where they opened for
business on Memorial Day, May 21, 1970. Tucker
became the heart and soul of the small animal
practice while Dr. McDonald embraced the large
animal side. Dr. Robinson has always been dedicated
to the practice of good veterinary medicine and
client service.
Tucker is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical
Association, the American Veterinarian Medical
Association, and the Harris County Veterinary
Medical Association. He has been published in
Veterinary Pathology for the diagnosis of a zoonotic
protozoan parasite called canine encephalitozoonosis
found in a litter of puppies he treated here at
Rose-Rich. This was the first report of the
infection to be found in the United States and the
first description of the isolation and propagation
of a canine microsporidan.
Dr. Robinson married Emily Robinson in 1964 and
together they have two children, Michael and Cindy,
and eight grandchildren. They enjoy spending time
with family and have a poodle named GiGi, and a
calico cat named Cali. In his free time Dr. Robinson
enjoys bike riding, travel and is an avid reader.
Dr. Julie A. Duty, DVM
Dr.
Julie Duty earned her B.S., Magna Cum Laude, in 1989
from Prairie View A & M University and her Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M in 1993. She
was awarded the Citizens for Animal Protection
Veterinary of the Year award 4 years consecutively,
1995 – 1998. She is a member of the Texas Veterinary
Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical
Association.
Dr. Duty is very involved in The Houston Livestock
and Rodeo Show. She is active on two committees, The
Palomino Horse Show committee since 2008 and the
Team Penning and Ranch Sorting committee since 2006.
Julie also competes in Ranch Sorting at the
Livestock Show and other venues around Texas.
Dr. Duty is currently living in Rosenberg with her
13 year old twin boys who she affectionately refers
to as her “life”. Together they share a home with
three dogs, one horse and four cats. Julie says “The
most important thing I like about veterinary
medicine is the opportunity to give back to the
community”. Dr. Duty routinely participates in
career days at Wessendorff, and Navarro sixth grade
campuses. She also helps local Boy Scout troop 1000
earn various merit badges.
Dr. Aaron C. Rainer, DVM, MPH
Dr.
Aaron Rainer received his B.S. in Biomedical Science
December 1998, Mastered in Public Health and earned
his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A & M
University in May of 2006. Professional highlights
include: 2006 Buck Weirus Spirit Award Recipient
(Texas A & M), 2008 Recent Graduate Practitioner of
the Year (TVMA), 2010 Emerging Leader (AVMA) and
2011 Diplomate Candidate (American College of
Veterinary Preventive Medicine). Aaron joined
Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic in April 2009.
Dr. Rainer presently serves on the TVMA Board of
Directors and is a District Director for the Gulf
Coast region. He is also a member of the TVMA
Strategic Planning Council, Legislative Committee,
and Chairman for the Recent Graduate Committee.
Dr. Rainer is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing
basketball and golf. He was born and raised in
Temple, Texas. He and his wife, Laurin Cunningham
Rainer were married July 2000 and have two beautiful
children, Adriel and Jace. His other interest
includes playing guitar, and writing songs.
Dr. Charlie Mc Donald, DVM
Dr.
Charlie Mc Donald was born and raised in Texas. He
attended Jefferson High School and was a noted
athlete that excelled at football, lettering all
four years. He continued his football career at
Lamar University and then again at Texas A & M in
1949. For the next three years he played defensive
back for the fightin’ Texas Aggies while he earned
his B.S. in Animal Husbandry. When he graduated in
1952, Dr. Mc Donald became a commissioned officer in
the United States Air Force and served his time in
the Strategic Air Command division. He returned to
Texas A & M in 1955 and received his Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine degree in 1959.
Dr. Mc Donald established Rose-Rich Veterinary
Clinic in 1964 at the original location and then
partnered with Dr. Tucker Robinson in 1966. They
later moved the practice to 2203 Thompson Rd. where
it has remained. Dr. Mc Donald presently handles the
large animal portion of the practice.
Dr. Mc Donald was elected and served in six offices
of the executive board leading to his election as
president of the 1600 member Texas Veterinary
Medical Association in 1976. Other honors include:
1983 recipient of the TVMA Distinguished Achievement
Award, 1988 TVMDL Diagnostician of the Year, and
2005 Outstanding Alumni Award from Texas A & M.
Dr. Mc Donald and wife, Barbara have three children
and six grandchildren. They have been active members
of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Sugar Land since
1976. In his spare time Dr. Mc Donald likes to fish.
Dr. Stephen D. Pappan, DVM
Dr.
Stephen D. Pappan was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas
and attended S.H. Rider High School. He earned his
B.S. in Veterinary Science at Texas A & M in 1974
and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A &
M in 1975. He has a special interest in surgery and
is certified in AO-ASIF Fracture Repair / Plating
techniques, AO-ASIF Advanced Orthopedics /
Corrective Oteotomies (TPLOs), and Slocum Tibial
Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO). Dr Pappan is a
member of the American Veterinary Medical
Association.
Dr Pappan is currently available for surgical cases
every Tuesday and some Friday’s at Rose-Rich
Veterinary Clinic.
When Dr. Pappan is not working he is spending time
with his three toy poodles Gracie, Lucy, and Scarlet
or traveling to see his daughter Jenifer in New
York. Dr. Pappan likes to combine travel to exotic
places and continuing education several times a
year. His extracurricular activities include golf
and scuba diving.
